Information on Prince's "cameo" in the film would be appreciated. --AWF
"In a recent trivia book, Q music magazine suggested that "Batdance" was the beginning of the end of Prince's musical greatness, a view echoed by the popular press."
This is an irrelevant, highly biased, and very sweeping, exteme criticism. "The beginning of the end of Prince's musical greatness"??? First of all, not only is this a vague and not very well developed criticism both of the album and of Prince (what exactly is the cut-off point for musical greatness?), it's also highly irrational and unbalanced; most good music writers would not throw around a sentence like "the beginning of the end of his musical greatness" to refer to an artist who is not only still active, but who made many more popular and more critically-acclaimed records AFTER the release of this album. Music writers in the "popular press" might have said this when the album was released or even afterwards, but if they did, it would just be evidence that they are not very good music writers. I also question how much of the "popular press" echoes this very extreme sentiment. Furthermore, Q magazine trivia book is not a notable or authoritative source by any stretch of the imagination, and paraphrasing them here is an insult to both Q and to Prince fans. Acting as if this very extreme and inaccurate description of the Batman ablum is acceptable is bad enough, but to include it in an encyclopedia article is even more laughably outrageous. I'm totally deleting this sentence and I don't think anyone can reasonably disgaree with my reasoning. I concede it's not one of his most well-regarded albums, but this sentence cites a silly source to make a silly point that adds nothing to the article.
