Talk:Bay Ridge–95th Street (BMT Fourth Avenue Line)

[edit] Naming
I'm not very sure that "Bay Ridge–95th Street" is the "official" name, per se. The MTA is very fuzzy on station names. While it is called Bay Ridge often (on The Map, for example), the signage in the station still reads simply "95th Street." What is "official" is highly ambiguous; this is something about the MTA that irritates me to no end. —Larry V (talk) 21:54, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
My understanding is that the station name is 95th St, but that "Bay Ridge" is the name of the neighborhood it's in. It's on the official map since announcements and platform signs often say that it is Bay Ridge-bound train. Same deal with Stillwell Avenue/Coney Island, where they will announce the stop before, "This is a Coney Island bound train. Next stop, Stillwell Avenue."
As for if 95th St really is in Bay Ridge or Fort Hamilton, my understanding of that is that Fort Hamilton is a sub-neighborhood inside of Bay Ridge. Besides, I don't think there are exact borders to many of the neighborhoods in Brooklyn, at least not that I could find. Jibberuski 10:59, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
