Beawar (or Nayanagar) is a town in the Rajasthan state of India.It is an important centre of trade, especially in raw cotton, and had cotton presses and the Krishna cotton mills.

Beawar was founded by Colonel Dixon in 1835.Beawar is a town of British India, the administrative headquarters of Merwara district in Ajmere Merwara. It is 33 miles from Ajmere, with a 1901 population of 21,928. Bewar is also the home to a leading cement company in India, Shree Cement.
