The Belarus national football team is the national football team of Belarus and is controlled by the Football Federation of Belarus. After the split of Soviet Union, they played their first match against Lithuania on July 20, 1992. Before that, Belarus players played for the USSR national football team.
The team plays its home matches at Dinamo Stadium (Minsk).
On May 24th, 2006, Belarus rallied for a surprise 2 - 1 victory over England B Team. It was their first shock victory since their 1 - 0 sucsess over the Netherlands in a Euro 96 qualifier in Minsk during 1995, the match seen the winning goal come from a very wide angle from the Dutch net.
