[edit] Biggs/Vicks and Japanese
The use of the name "Vicks" in Final Fantasy 3 US (VI) is more likely a result of a probable typo in the Japanese version than any fault on the translator's part (unless you count not recognizing the Star Wars reference a fault). Unlike every other appearance of the character in any Square game (at least according to the Japanese Wikipedia entry (Wikipedia:ビッグス&ウェッジ)), FFVI spells his name with a "ku" (Romanized to "bikkusu") instead of a "gu" ("biggusu"), making "Vicks" a reasonable guess since the Japanese "b" sound is used to approximate both English "b" and "v".
On the other hand, there's no excuse for using "Vicks" in Chrono Trigger except to make it match FFVI.
I could just edit the article... but I'd rather explain it and let someone else do the work :). Preferably someone who's registered.
