Bill Dawes is an Irish-American comedian, actor, and writer living in New York City.

Bill Dawes is an actor, writer, and stand-up comedian born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. He graduated from T.C. Williams High School -- featured in Remember the Titans -- whereupon he attended Princeton University and graduated with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. After completion of his undergraduate studies, Dawes earned his Masters of Fine Arts from New York University.

Dawes’ began his professional acting career on the stage, in the Broadway production of “Sex and Longing” starring Sigourney Weaver. He followed that role with a year-long stint as Lord Alfred in “Gross Indecency: The Trials of Oscar Wilde.”

After leaving his role on the stage as Lord Alfred, Dawes began his career in film and television. On the big screen, Dawes has co-starred in a number of short films and independent pictures including “Born Loser”, “Evenhand”, and “The Science of Love.”

On the small screen, Dawes has enjoyed success in guest roles and recurring characters on shows like “Law & Order”, “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”, "Oz", “All My Children”, and “One Life to Live.”

Currently, Dawes lives in New York City and performs as the comedian in residence at New York’s Laugh Factory. He hosts Laugh Factory’s “College Night” every Friday and performs regularly at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles. In the Fall and Winter of 2006, Dawes joined Jamie Kennedy and Stu Stone on a cross-country stand-up comedy tour as their opening act. This included opening for Kennedy and Bob Saget when they performed together at the HBO Comedy Festival in Las Vegas.
