William Alexander Gadsby (August 9, 1926 in Calgary, Alberta) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman who played for the Chicago Black Hawks, New York Rangers, and Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League.
Bill is one of the best players that never won the Stanley Cup. Despite playing in an era with Doug Harvey, he still managed to receive first team All-Star nominations on three occasions in his career. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1970. In 1998, he was ranked number 99 on The Hockey News' list of the 100 Greatest Hockey Players.
