Boyle-Workman family
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Boyle-Workman family are two interconnected families central to the early history of Los Angeles. Their connection was the result of the marriage of Los Angeles mayor William Henry Workman to Maria Elizabeth Boyle, daughter of A. A. Boyle, who established Boyle Heights. Their son Boyle Workman wrote The City That Grew, an important history of the city.
The Workman house is at the Workman and Temple Family Homestead Museum in the City of Industry, California.
The family included "Mona Darkfeather", billed falsely by Hollywood as the "first Indian actor".
