Brandon Tierney
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Brandon Tierney hosts his own show, The Brandon Tierney Show, on WEPN, an ESPN Radio affiliate in New York City, which airs weekdays from 7pm - 10pm, and on Sunday mornings at various times.
Born on June 26, 1973, Tierney began his career in the sports mecca of Allentown, PA and seven months later found himself in Las Vegas as an anchor and host on the SportsFan Radio Network.
Tierney eventually moved to 1130 WDFN in Detroit. His quick wit and extensive knowledge proved uncanny and parlayed into other mediums. He wrote a daily column on Pistontalk.com and anchored pre- and post-game shows for the Pistons and Lions. He also hosts Knicks pre- and post-game shows on MSG network.
The Brooklyn native and avid Jets, Yankees, Knicks, and St. John's fan returned to his roots here in the Big Apple in 2003 as a New York SportsCenter anchor and contributor on the "Wally and the Keeg Show." He has co-hosted "Cold Pizza" on ESPN 2 and, along with Mike Crispino, is the shill of Red Storm basketball.
Brandon attended Xavier High School, in Manhattan, and has mentioned the traditional Thanksgiving Day football game against Fordham Prep on air.
Brandon attended Marist College, earned a B.A. in journalism, and lettered in baseball. Recently, he has been in a presumably friendly feud with the members of the Michael Kay.
On August 28, 2006, Stephen A. Smith announced that starting on September 5, Brandon would be leaving the "Stephen A. Smith Show" to host his own show on WEPN from 7-10pm Monday through Friday.
