Breaching Shotgun
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A breaching shotgun is a shotgun holding special rounds that is used to remove locks from doors. In the military, the standard door breaching round is the slug,[citation needed] but there are specialized breaching rounds made from ceramics and iron dust and are designed to not only blow the lock, but to cause additional debris from the door itself.[citation needed] These shotguns are sometimes loaded with OC rounds.[citation needed] Any shotgun can be used for this purpose, but the military usually used the Mossberg 500, the Remington 870, the KAC Masterkey, and the Winchester 1200.
