Brian Gallant (from Shediac Bridge, New Brunswick) was a candidate for election in the province of New Brunswick, Canada.
As a representant of the New Brunswick Liberal Association [ 1 ] in the Moncton-East riding for the New Brunswick general election, 2006, he fought against the deposed Premier Bernard Lord who defeated him.
Gallant has a Bachelor's degree in business administration and is studying to obtain a Bachelor of laws from the Université de Moncton.
Although a new-comer on the provincial political scene, he is a very active member of the community. Gallant has been engaged in the New Brunswick Student Alliance, a lobby group "that has been defending, promoting and campaigning for the issues that are fundamental to the students of New Brunwick, for the last 20 years."[2] He is also the President of the FEECUM, the student federation of the Université de Moncton, for the second year [3]. Among other things, Gallant has advocated on behalf of the students for lower tuition fees and financial help.
