Brindle, Lancashire
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Brindle is a small village and civil parish of the borough of Chorley, Lancashire, England. It is in the centre of a triangle between Preston, Blackburn, and Chorley. The scenic countryside has little industry but a thriving community. Brindle is also one of the most affluent areas in Lancashire [1], with average earnings over 33% higher than the national average, an achievement of considerable note for a rural community.
Brindle is home to the Cavendish Arms pub, Saint James's Church of England church, tennis courts and a number of trails and bridle paths. As a beautifully kept parish offering excellent links to nearby towns including business centres such as Preston, Bolton, Chorley and Manchester, Brindle has become a desirable place to live for professionals who want to reside in rural areas, as such Brindle could be described as a commuter village although the village still retains a strong sense of local identity.[citation needed]
House prices in the area are high, with the average detached house price approaching £500,000 and a terraced house around half that amount.
