My mother worked at the Broadmoor, and I knew one of their distinguished Matredi's, John Altrichter. I was told that the reason the "A" in the logo is smaller is because when the original hotel stationary was misprinted omitting the "A" altogether. Because the width of the stationary and type font were set, the printer could only offset the other letters in the word enough to accommodate a smaller font "A" and had to shift it up to make it fit. Penrose liked it and kept it as the logo. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Llebbor (talk • contribs) .
