Bruce Flegg

Dr Bruce Flegg (born 10 March 1954 in Sydney, New South Wales) is the Leader of the Queensland Liberal Party and Shadow Treasurer in the Queensland Parliament. He was elected leader of the state parliamentary Liberal Party on 7 August 2006, replacing Bob Quinn. Prior to this he served as Deputy Leader and Shadow Minister for Health.
Bruce Flegg's performance as leader, aposition he was elected to shortly before the election, during the 2006 election has been widely criticised by his own party, his coalition party and the media.[1].
On 31 January 2007 Bruce Flegg and the leader of the National Party, Jeff Seeney, announced that should the coalition win the next State election the Premier will be Jeff Seeney even if the Liberal Party wins more seats than the National Party.[2]
Mr Flegg, a millionaire as a result of his success in business, has been criticised for continuing to claim a disability pension, that he recieves completely legally and as a result of his time in the military.[3]
He is the Member for Moggill having been elected in 2004 and re-elected in 2006.
He served in the Royal Australian Army Medical Corps (RAAMC). Prior to election he was a General Practitioner.
He has four sons.
