Buckles, Frank Woodruff

Frank Woodruff Buckles (February 1, 1901) is one of the last surviving American veterans of World War I. Buckles was born in Missouri in 1901. In 1917, Buckles enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 16. Buckles trained at Fort Dix, New Jersey and wa stationed in Missouri, the UK, Germany and France. Buckles served in France in 1918 and by the end of the war reached rank of private first class. Buckles was discharged from service in 1920 and served for 3 years. And resides in Charles Town, West Virginia
