[edit] Power requirements
I saw a JR placard inside a Chūō local line car which mentioned that the current cars in use are eco-friendly, and require just 47% of the power of the old 103s. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of it; but, it seems like a fact worth noting in the article, provided there is a source which is more reliable than my memory. One more day of visiting Tokyo, and I'll see if I can spot the same sign again. Neier 09:29, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Title change
Isn't this article's title a little bit too ambigous? I suggest we move its contents to "JR East E231 Train Series", in accordance to the Japanese 「JR東E231系電車」, and turn the present page into a redirect. -- Ishikawa Minoru 20:05, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- "XXX series" is the format currently used for JR/JNR EMUs on Wikipedia. I see no need to adopt the extremely cumbersome format used on Ja Wiki. Have a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Japanese_rolling_stock for others. DAJF 00:45, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
