Eagle Hunting and Hunting Eagles is the fifth episode in season 1 of the Japanese anime Black Lagoon. The episode was first broadcast in Japan on May 6, 2006.

The episode picks up directly from episode 4 of the series, where the Lagoon Company was hired to obtain a German painting inside a German sub ship which was sunken by American destroyers near the Nicobar Islands in March, 1945. Revy and Rock have ventured down to the depths of the ocean to penetrate the sub and find the painting. Meanwhile, Lagoon Company's torpedoboat, "Black Lagoon" is attacked by a another ship using TOWs and barely escape out of the enemy's attack range with their lives. The episode starts immediately after this event.
Down at the sea bed, Revy and Rock have discovered the German sub and managed to penetrate the hull. Once inside the sub, they are able to remove their oxygen masks and walk on dry floor. Rock also makes a horribly discovery (at least for him), the skeletons of the long deceased crew, before following Revy further inside the sub.
Further inside the sub, they discover the scene of a gunfight. It was here in 1945, when the crew knew they were doomed, a oral conflict took place between the sub's captain, Wentzel Aabe, and a SS Lieutenant Colonel, which culminated in the latter shooting the captain dead. In a flashback the viewer is presented with this scene, ending when the crew avenging their captain by shooting the SS officer (after he had already killed at least three members of the crew who had attempted to stop him). The flashback ends and Revy correctly deduces why this shootout took place even though the entire crew knew they were going to die of oxygen deficiency when the air run out in mere hours. Rock finds the painting still intact, thereby fulfilling their objective. Although they are supposed to return to the surface when they have obtained the painting, Revy is out for more. She leaves Rock with the painting to scavenge the U-boat for Aabe's Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords.
The episode then switches over to the enemy ship which presence have forced the "Black Lagoon" with Dutch and Benny from straying to close to the sub boat's location, thus preventing them from aiding Rock and Revy down on the sea bottom. A closer look at the crew on the enemy ship reveals them to be a group of modern Nazis who style themselves along the lines of the Sturmabteilung. Their commander holds a roaring speech, revealing they also are after the painting. These Nazis, calling themselves The Aryan Socialist Union then prepare to lower a capsule down in the sea with several soldiers to retrieve the painting from the sub.
Meanwhile, inside the sub, a pleased Revy returns to Rock, having found the Knight's Cross in addition to other decorations and medals. Rock responds by revealing his thoughts on the matter. He agrees on taking the painting, but not the decorations and medals, feeling it is wrong to deprive the dead bodies of these honorable symbols that they fought hard to earn. In his thoughts, if anyone has the right to take the medals, it would be their families which they left behind in their homeland. Revy replies by giving him a lecture on money and death, stating that all the medals she found have only one value, money. Everything else is by her described as being "emotional bullshit". According to her, money is power and far more useful than God. She also gives him a little story from her childhood, where things as God and love was nowhere to be found, thereby proving for her that God and love will not help her, only money and guns has in her mind that power. Rock is horrified by her story, but she declines his pity. She finishes by warning him that she will not tolerate him bringing up the subject again, assuring him that if he do, she will kill him.
Their gloomy conservation is cut short by the sudden arrival of the modern Nazis, who have reached the sub on the sea bed. Revy surprise attack them and kills all of them, except one, Kruppen Feller, who manages to evade them, seize the painting from Rock and rush up back in the diving pod to the surface to warn the rest of the Neo Nazis of the presence of "grave robbers". Revy pursues him with an APS Underwater Assault Rifle and engages the ship from the ocean surface, but is forcefully pulled away to safety by Rock, who realises they cannot defat the Nazis in their current state. They retreat back to the "Black Lagoon" where the meet up with Dutch and Benny, forced to lay a new plan for retaking the painting.

- In this episode, it is revealed that Benny is of Jewish descent, giving him an extra reason for holding a grudge agains the Neo Nazis. During his discussion with Dutch he humorously claims his family's creed to be "Fuck the Nazis".
