El Chombo

El Chombo, real name Rodney Clark, is an American-born Panamanian Reggaeton producer and artist. His major local hits under his own name include "Kung Fu" and "El Gato Volador".
As a producer, he's best known for Lorna's 2003 worldwide hit "Papi Chulo (Te Traigo El Mmmm)", which served as an introduction to reggaeton for many Europeans, reaching number one in the French charts with top ten appearances in Greece, Italy, and The Netherlands.
El Chombo was a guest on the Scott Mills drivetime show on BBC Radio 1 on December 13, 2006 after Mills had come across the video for El Chombo's Macarron Chacarron on popular video hosting site Youtube. Mills has since played the track on his radio show a number of times in part or in full and has started somewhat of a campaign to get Chacarron to the top of the UK Singles Chart (similar to his recent apparent obsession with David Hasselhoff and his single Jump In My Car).
In Chacarron, El Chombo appears to mock the reggaeton style of music - instead of reciting words over the traditional reggaeton style beat and backing, he slurs an incomprehensible stream of noise before breaking into the chorus in which the only two distinguishable "words" are "Chacarron" and "Macarron". Mills and his radio team have commented a number of times on the catchiness of the song (specifically the amusing slur of a verse) and how it can have a tendency to stick in the listener's head. The song is popular on the humor site YTMND, on which one of the most well-known sites shows a .gif of Batman dancing while part of the song plays.
The single has reached #20 on the UK Singles Chart.
