[edit] Welcome to Novels WikiProject
Hi, and welcome to the Novels WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to fiction books often refered to as "Novels".
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated quite regularly. You can watch it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WikiProject_Novels_announcements}} there.
While you are updating your userpage, don't forget our userbox {{User WikiProject Novels}}. - The project has a monthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered as a link, but other methods are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Starting some new articles? Our article structure guidelines / template outlines some things to include.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the members, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! :: Grey Shadow 01:01, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks
Just wanted to drop you a note saying thanks for adding cats to tons of article. It's grunt work, but necessary work to improve Wikipedia.--Supernumerary 20:31, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thank you for the support
On the issue of producing company vs. distributor we may have very little reaction and hope of consensus, as it involves going through all the thousands of film infoboxes and replacing the info. It can be done but, for the moment at least, film gnomes (including aquatic species) are still sweating to get more basic things straight. Let's see. Great work you have done, by the way. [edit] Notice
This is to inform you that Wikipedia:WikiProject Films/Categorization has started. Any contributions in further developing it are warmly welcome. Hoverfish Talk 15:42, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
- Hi here too. Suggestion: We have some members who use AWB, which makes going through 200 articles for a preset change much easier. So we can ask them to do. Let's clear out (in the cat department) a set of changes first and then Cbrown or Nehrams can run them semi-automatically. Hoverfish Talk 21:56, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you are doing with the template (I'm just a beginner in their "esoteric" aspects, but if you explain further I may get it). I have seen the 14 articles of Category:Films by decade. Some of them are neglected but some keep being updated by several users. We need consensus to do AfD on film articles. Removing their category leaves them simply uncategorized, so next someone will put them back. But since this involves film lists (and not categories), we should start a discussion in the main film project. There we may get an idea of whether it will be a smooth move or not. Hoverfish Talk 22:46, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
- By the way, what do you think of the template {{filmsbyyear}} ? E.S.Blofeld started creating this series. He had to stop, but it may be used later (if the "Films released in year" split from the years in films articles). For the moment they have all redirects to the categories (as in Category:1999 films), so the template works. But I can also create another one to navigate in categories only. [edit] Greek Life Template 2.0
OK, I've added ratings and ranking to the proposed template for Fraternities and Sororities, with the requirements to be found on the appropriate page. We're waiting on a transparent picture; is there anything else to be done to this template? I'd like to give it another week or so before making it an official template. Just leave some comments on the template talk page for the template. —ScouterSig 02:05, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] copyedit and suggestions for Greek userboxes
Two things: 1. I copyedited your user page on the Horror film sentence by adding a space between "the" and the IW link. 2. On your Greek userboxes, you may want to add a category for each Greek organization. This will give anyone an ideal if there are other soroity sisters or fraternity brothers who are on Wikipedia.
Just some thoughts. Chris 15:12, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Short story infobox
Hi, thanks for you message I have been bold and changed the guidance for the infobox and put my reasons in a descussion point there. I can see what you were meaning but I do think that we ought to use "Media_type" the same way (roughly at least between the two infoboxes. Anyway let me know what you think, and I agree consistency is what we are after, closely followed by simplicity. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 08:58, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing that it seems like a good way to proceed. Thanks again :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 08:41, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Velocity
Hi, why did you
(1) remove the book cover with the ultimatum so that the "(see book cover, below)" in the plot summary does not make sense any more?
(2) add the "cleanup tag" without stating what it is that isn't (quite) okay?
I'd gladly try to improve the article, and others may want to do so as well, but we have to be sure what exactly should be changed: content? spelling? grammar? etc.
For the time being, I've reverted your edit. All the best, <KF> 01:41, 3 February 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your message. I can see now what you mean. I agree with you about the infobox. (By the way, I certainly did not edit it.) Have a nice day, <KF> 05:41, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

- Sorry, I just realized I did edit the infobox, but I was not aware of it. I was editing a former version of the article when I put back the image. I've changed it now the way you (and I) think it's correct. <KF> 05:47, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
