Eternal Daughter is a freeware action-adventure game similar to Super Metroid and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It was created by amateur developer Blackeye Software in 2002, and is one of the most well-known games in the Multimedia Fusion environment. In the klik community site The Daily Click, it received the site's Game of the Week award shortly after its release, and it currently ranks among the site's top three games. [1] In addition to The Daily Click, the game has also received generally positive feedback on other sites hosting freeware games.

[edit] Story
The game centers around the protagonist Mia, a girl who is born as the slave of an imperial race known as the Dungaga. The Dungaga are apparently on a mission of world conquest in the name of their Empire of Steel, and they are the main antagonists throughout the game. Players control Mia on her quest to break free from slavery and discover the mystery about who she really is.
[edit] Gameplay
Eternal Daughter utilizes a classic style of side-scrolling platform gaming. Mia begins the game with a limited set of abilities, but as the player progresses, items can be found that grant her new abilities, such as wall jumping and underwater breathing. There are also heart containers scattered around the world that will increase Mia's maximum health.
Boss battles are among the most difficult parts of the game, sometimes introduced by dialogue. Each boss has a specific attack pattern and requires a certain weapon or ability in order to damage effectively.
Generally speaking, fans of the game agree[citation needed] that the gameplay is fair, balanced, and requires the player to formulate strategies for some of the more difficult areas. On the other hand, many people[citation needed] find the game to be too frustrating and the gameplay to be lacking in polish.
