Evan Horwood (born. March 10, 1986 in Hartlepool) is a young is an English footballer, who plays for Sheffield United in the position of left-back.
He signed for United as a trainee in 2004 and came through the Sheffield United Academy. He has made only one appearance for the Blades, this was as a substitute in a League Cup 3rd Round tie at Reading on October 25, 2005.
A left-back who is also competent at centre-half, Horwood has been loaned out to Stockport County, Scunthorpe United, York City, Chester City and Darlington respectively. He remains a promising prospect for the future. During his first few games for Darlington he was sent off for a rash challenge.
In season 2006-07, he has featured in three of Sheffield United's Reserves 'A' matches. Horwood had a loan spell at Darlington in October 2006[1] which was cut short by injury but on January 1, 2007, he re-joined the club for another month loan.[2]
