[edit] Justice Society adversary
Guy Pompton, owner of Ace Movie Rental Agency and a crimelord, donned a costumed identity to stop a movie studio from completing a film that used a script that would have exposed his criminal activities. He fought the Justice Society but possessed no superhuman abilities.
[edit] Green Lantern adversary
A scientist on the planet Auron dedicated himself to cheating death by drawing power from the stars themselves. He invented the starband, which made him immortal, but twisted his mind toward evil and prematurely aged his fellow Aorans. The people of Auron wanted him to destroy the starband, but having tasted immortality he refused to give it up. The ensuing battle left all of Auron lifeless except for the scientist, now known as Evil Star. Evil Star sought new worlds to conquer and came into frequent conflict with the Guardians of the Universe and the Green Lanterns, including Hal Jordan.
The Guardians later sent Evil Star to the Erral Rehab Facility, where they used a brain wave nullifier in an attempt to cure him. This rehabilitation was only partially successful, as the nullifier stimulated his subconscious, recreating the Starlings, who brought him the Star Brand. Evil Star fled to Earth in a confused state, believing the Starlings were persecuting him. He fought with Ferrin Colos, one of the Darkstars, who flooded Star's mind with reminders of the lives he had taken, starting with his homeworld. Evil Star's mind shut down, and he was returned to the Guardians for re-education.
During Underworld Unleashed Evil Star was freed by Neron, with enhanced Starlings, but returned to captivity by the Darkstars and Guy Gardner.
[edit] Powers & Abilities
Guy Pompton has no powers.
The later Evil Star has a brilliant yet twisted mind, and his primary weapon is the Starband. The starband draws the energy of the stars to prolong Evil Star's lifespan, create force blasts or hard light constructs, and powers the Starlings. Starlings are miniature versions of Evil Star that possess superhuman strength and invulnerability, and are under his complete control. Starlings need direct commands from Evil Star to function, and they become directionless if he is unconscious. If Evil Star is kept away from starlight for a prolonged period, his powers fade away.
[edit] Other media

In the 1966 Green Lantern cartoon Evil Star was featured in the episode "Evil is as Evil does" by Filmation.
Evil Star was the main antagonist in a Justice League novel. His background is similar to the comics, except that he tries to establish himself Monarch of Ulandira (Auron's capital city Ulandir).
In Justice League Unlimited, Evil Star was seen at Roulette's Metabrawl and is reported to be a member of the Legion of Doom led by Gorilla Grodd. It was said that this version is Guy Pompton. Lex Luthor (with the mind of The Flash) once called him "Evil-Head Guy" in the episode, "The Great Brain Robbery"
