F. E. Compton

Frank Elbert Compton (born 1874, died May 13, 1950) was a publisher of encyclopedias and other reference works. He spent his career in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.
Compton graduated from the University of Wisconsin in and began his career in 1894 as a salesman for a Chicago firm. He established his own firm in 1912. He died in La Jolla, California.
