This user account is a bot operated by TheFearow (talk).

It is not a sock puppet, but rather an automated or semi-automated account for making repetitive edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually.
Administrators: if this bot is malfunctioning or causing harm, please block it.

This bot is currently being programmed, I have only registered this user account so I don't create a bot then have to change everything due to someone else taking the name. When the bot is complete and mostly operational I will post here, until then you'll have to wait. I am going to be updating this bot page later today, with a feature list etc.

[edit] Bot Purpose

This bot is intended as an anti-profanity, anti-spam, and miscellaneous task bot. In the beginning I hope to have it search new pages for swearwords and "spamwords" (words often appearing in spam posts), and give it a score. Each "bad word" programmed into it has a different score, and for each one each time it appears it will add that words score onto the pages score. Certain words including the page title will have a score, that lowers the page score. These "good words" are words that often appear in good articles, but not in bad. If the article has a low score or negative score, it will be left alone. If it has a medium to low score, the bot will prompt me. If it is medium to high, it will put it on AfD, and if it is above high, then it will put a DB|FearBot-IdentifiedSpam tag on it for speedy deletion.

Stub re-categorisation (turning normal stub tags into Something-stub tags depending on content)

I am also going to program a simple plugin system for various tasks, such as do X with all articles in category Y, as well as things like patrolling certain pages as well as the newpages for vandalism/spam (won't be in initial release)

I may be doing some testing prior to application, however I will program the bot to read a certain page in my userspace,and it will only edit that article.

I have the emergency bot shutoff button on the bots talk page, and I am also going to have a system to read the Bot Problems section of its talk page whenever it gets a new message, and it will show that message to me, and prompt me to either pause, terminate, or ignore.

Programming Language: Java
Framework: Custom-built
Amount of edits: No more than once every 5 seconds, a lot of actions especially maybe bad, maybe not articles are user-based, so it cannot go faster than me except on obvious spam.
Bot schedule: I will only run the bot while I am there, and due to my timezone when I am online is not usually peak times, however I am sometimes and I will set a -peak flag in the application to make it run slower.
Internal error: If the program has an internal error it will immediately stop updating/reading pages, and log the error. It will then prompt me, showing me the error description, and if I find it is a once-off or non important error I will tell it to restart the problem Thread, otherwise I will stop the bot and debug the error.
