FOUO

FOUO (For Official Use Only) refers to information that is unclassified, however that mandates what is called a special releasability or dissemination restriction.
FOUO or For Official Use Only is one type of information in the broad category of Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) information. SBU includes Law Enforcement Sensitive (LES), Security Sensitive Information (SSI), Critical Infrastructure Information (CII), etc. Documents are often marked FOUO/NO FORN, designating that they may not be disseminated to foreign persons or entities.
