Frédéric Sy was a French astronomer.
He published scientific articles during the period from 1894 to 1918 on the topic of comets and asteroids. He worked at the Algiers Observatory and was a colleague of François Gonnessiat.
He discovered a couple of asteroids. The asteroid 1714 Sy is named after him.
