Françoise Ducros

Françoise (Francie) Ducros is a member of the Quebec Bar (1986) and holds degrees in Common Law and Civil Law from McGill University and an undergraduate degree in History from the University of Ottawa. She has practised law, worked for an NGO and held several executive positions in the Govenmnent of Canada. For ten years, she worked for the Liberal Government acting as Chief of Staff from 1993 to 1996 to Brian Tobin, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, and, from 1996 to 1999, as Chief of Staff to Stephane Dion, Minister of Inter-governmental Affairs. On June 12, 1999, she became the Director of Communications for Prime Minister Jean Chrétien. She resigned as Director of Communictions in November 2002, after the press reported a comment attributed to her in which she referred to President George W. Bush as a "moron". She is currently a Director General at the Canadian International Development Agency.
Ducros' father was a judge during the FLQ trials.
