Francois von Hurter (b. Geneva, Switzerland, 30 June 1946. Son of Ludwig and Roxane von Hurter) is often regarded to be one of the finest European mergers and acquisitions practioners of his generation. He had a distinguished 27-year career at Credit Suise First Boston. Much to the amazement of the international finance community, he took early retirement in 1997 to set up the acclaimed publishing house "Bitter Lemon Press", specialising in the translation and publication of foreign language crime novels into English. His devoted wife of 30 years, Arrelle von Hurter, thinks he skis too much.
