[edit] Similarities with Stargate
Fringeworthy was a role-playing game that we considered playing a long time ago, well before Stargate, so I know that it has precedence. But regarding the following text in the article:
- Two aspects of the game -- circular Gateways to alternate universes roughly ten meters in diameter, and a pseudo-military force set with the task of exploring these other universes -- gives the Stargate and Stargate SG-1 series of movies and TV shows a strong resemblance to Fringeworthy. As Fringeworthy predates the Stargate franchise, and no recognition is given to Fringeworthy, this means the Stargate series may be a violation of Richard Tucholka's intellectual property rights.
I know that this is qualified with may (weasel word), but it smells of personal research. Val42 04:38, 1 August 2006 (UTC)

- I originally speculated about this on my webpage. Richard Tucholka saw it and wrote to me; he was, as of Jan 31 2004, suing the creators of Stargate over this. (Source: personal e-mail.) I don't know the result of that case, thus the word "may". Jiawen 00:47, 2 August 2006 (UTC)

- I removed the whole section. It is original research, unverifiable, uncited and horribly point of view. Without a citation to a reliable source (that website you mentioned would not work) it should not be added back in. Sorry. Konman72 00:33, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
- So, we need to find a reputable source to use as a citation source, but ones like Scifipedia or Yahoo movies are not reputable enough? I read through the guidelines and I'm wondering what would constitute a reputable source? Kedamono 02:01, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
- Scifipedia is user edited just like Wikipedia, in fact it no longer reports what you want it to. I don't recall a yahoo movies citation, but I do remember imdb and ebay cites that led to pages about the movie, neither of which even mentioned Fringeworthy at all. Any news article from a reputable website would work, or...well, since so far you haven't provided almost any citation and I can't find any on google, why don't you see what you can find and we'll discuss it then. Or just read the link I have provided in about every edit summary I have made, WP:RS. Konman72 02:28, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Lawsuit was never filed
