Galactic Network
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Galactic Network can be said to be the first conception of what would eventually become the Internet. The original idea was conceived by J.C.R. Licklider in August of 1962 at MIT. He wrote a number of articles where he envisioned the idea of a series of globally interconnected computers where resources and information could be accessed from any site. Licklider later teamed up with ARPA and the rest is history.
