At the time of the construction of the line to Dijon (1851), and next to Marseille (1856), the local station was in Saint-Mammès (at this time it was named Moret - Saint-Mammès). It is only with the creation of the of Bourbonnais-line, to Clermont-Ferrand (1858), that was built the station of Moret - Les Sablons. It has been conceived by the architect François-Alexis Cendrier, author of many other stations of the company Chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée.
