Talk:Gartel

[edit] Citation needed
We need a CITE for the use of gartels by Hasidim. I could also not find a support for the Rav Schwab (presumably Shimon Schwab) quote, so I made this more generic. JFW | T@lk 11:13, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
Did the Chafetz Chaim wear a gartel?
Yes, the Chofetz chaim did. --Shaul avrom 11:53, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
- A citation for the use of gartels by chassidim? Pleaseeeee. --Chussid 21:18, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] not just chassidim
Not just chassidim wear gartels. A lot of articles say that chassidim do one thing or another like wear a gartel or have peyos when in fact a lot of "plain" orthodox people do those things. Normally more charedi men wear a gartel.
- Nope, wrong. Only chassidim wear a gartel. Yerushalmi Litvaks (Graniks) wear something akin to a gartel on their coat, but it isn't really a gartel (well, I don't know whether it counts as one). Aside from that, only chassidim wear gartels. --Chussid 21:18, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
- Wrong, so do many Chaim Berliners and their kids ... IZAK 20:57, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] De-stubbed
This article appears to be of an appropriate length for the subject matter under discussion. It is also appropriately categorized and wikified.
By nature, stubbing and tagging articles devalues them, giving them an aura of unreliability and making them seem less credible. As part of my personal campaign to free up articles that have been stubbed and tagged without cause, this article has been disenstubbified.
If any editor disagrees, and would rather re-stub it than improve it by adding actual content, please discuss here. The Editrix 03:45, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
