[edit] Laws against homosexuality
There are no sodomy laws in Colombia. The age of consent is the same for homosexual and heterosexual sex, and is set at 12 years for females and 14 years for males[1].
LGBT people are not specifically barred from serving in the armed forces, but there is no specific law permitting them to do so.
[edit] Laws against discrimination
The Colombian Constitution of 1991, in its 13th article, states that "(...) the State will provide conditions for the equality to be real and effective, and will adopt measures in favour of marginalised or discriminated groups". However, there are no specific laws against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, and police harassment against LGBT people is not uncommon.
[edit] Recognition of same-sex couples
In February 7, 2007, the Colombian Constitutional Court awarded common-law marriage inheritance rights to same-sex couples[2]. The full text of the Court's sentence is yet to be published.
