Gianrico Carofiglio

Gianrico Carofiglio (born 1961) is a novelist and anti-Mafia judge in Italian city of Bari. His debut novel, Involuntary Witness, was published in 2002, and translated into English in 2005 by Patrick Creagh and published by the Bitter Lemon Press. It has also been adapted as the basis for a popular television series in Italy.
He has written three books about the lawyer Guido Guerrieri, all published by Sellerio editore Palermo - "Testimone Inconsapevole" , "Ad Occhi Chiusi" and "Ragionevoli Dubbi" (Reasonable Doubt) - and another book, not in the same series, "Il Passato e una terra straniera" (The Past is a Different Country"), published by Rizzoli. An English translation of "Ad Occhi Chiusi" ("A Walk in the Dark", translated by Howard Curtis) was published by Bitter Lemon Press in 2006. English translations of his other two books will appear in 2007.
