Gill Man

Gill Men are fictional lifeforms featured in the computer game X-COM: Terror from the Deep, inspired by the Gill Man from The Creature from the Black Lagoon. The Gill Men are natives from Earth and might have some relations with humans. They reigned during the prehistoric times 65 million years ago with the dinosaurs until their mysterious disappearance.
The Gill Men are commonly encountered on just about every type of mission in TFTD. They are totally average across the board, being competent at most aspects of combat - but nothing more.
A Gill Man may attain any rank except for 'Medic', and only the highest ranking Gill Men can perform any kind of Molecular Control attacks. They frequently carry the standard sonic weapons, although it is not uncommon to encounter Gill Men armed with Shok launchers, PW Torpedoes, and Thermic Lances.
