From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
GODSPEED; The Kurt Cobain Graphic. GODSPEED is a graphic novel depicting the life of Kurt Cobain (lead singer of Nirvana). The book is written by Jim McCarthy and Barneby Legg and illustrated by Flameboy. The book does not attempt to tell a factual biography of Kurt Cobain, rather, it attempts to tell the story (with artistic license )from Cobain's point of view. It is told almost like a Grimm Brothers rock and roll fairytail. The story is both humorous and disturbing with adult content. About the authors; Jim McCarthy used to illustrate the 2000AD comic strip; Bad Company. Little is know about Flameboy although he does have a website; www.flameboycomics.co.uk after the release of GODSPEED, it is rumored that Flameboy received death threats from Nirvana Fans. Rumors soon spread around the internet of his suicide. These rumors later turned out to be false.
Flameboy and Jim McCarthy later produced another graphic novel; DEATH RAP - TUPAC SHAKUR- A LIFE. As the title suggests, is about the life of the gunned down rapper, Tupac Shakur.
