Gordon Stevenson, husband of Mirielle Cervenka (little sister of Exene Cervenka of the band X), was slated to play bass in the original line-up of the No Wave band DNA, but dropped out before the band's first gig. Later he became the bass player for Lydia Lunch's band Teenage Jesus & The Jerks, and recorded on the No New York album with them, as well as releases on Charles Ball's Lust/Unlust label. Gordon toured Great Britain with TJ&J. He died in the early 80s, an early casualty to the AIDS epidemic, not too long after his wife, Mirielle, was killed in an auto accident while visiting her sister in Los Angeles.
Gordon, born in Dublin, GA, also directed, "Ecstatic Stigmatic" (1980). His brother, Davey Stevenson, was the bass player in the Athens, GA band, "Limbo District" (which included Craig Woodall, Jerry Ayers, Tim Lacy, Dominique Amet and Kelly Crow). Davey also died of AIDS in the early 90's.
