Goromonzi

Goromonzi is a village in the province of Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe. It is located about 20 km from Harare in hilly country. The village serves as a trading centre for commercial, communal and co-operative farms. It is also the administrative centre for the Chinyika communal land.
In the 2005 general election the candidate of the Zanu PF was declared the winner. This was in contrast to the fact that the candidate of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) polled an overall majority. The declared result was that the number of votes for the Zanu PF declared exceeded the number of total votes.
