Grappenhall

Grappenhall is a village in Warrington, Cheshire. It is situated along the Bridgewater Canal, and forms one of the principal settlements of Grappenhall and Thelwall civil parish.
St Wilfrid's church has a carving of a cat on the West face of the tower. This is believed to be Lewis Caroll's inspiration for the grinning Cheshire Cat in "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland".
It is also the birthplace of actor Tim Curry.
