Greg Baldwin (born September 13, 1960 in Grants, New Mexico) is an American actor. Raised in Spring, Texas, he currently resides in the San Fernando Valley with Melissa Baldwin, his wife of twenty-two years and their two children, Sydney and Cooper.
He has worked in the theatre extensively, appearing as (among others) Mushnik in Little Shop Of Horrors, Dr. Zubritsky in Neil Simon's Fools and Count Otto Von Bruno in Bullshot Crummond. Primarily known as a voiceover actor, some of his roles include Boris The Cosmonaut Monkey in Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, Daddy Bailey in Xiaolin Showdown and Jack M. Crazyfish in an upcoming episode of Spongebob Squarepants. His voice can also be heard on numerous video games. He was chosen to take over the role of Iroh on Avatar: The Last Airbender after the death of the original voice actor, Mako, and has thus far voiced Iroh on three occasions.
There seems to be some confusion about Mr. Baldwin appearing on Broadway and studying directly under Mako. He has been a student of Mako's voice since 1977, when he first heard the cast album of Stephen Sondheim's Pacific Overtures. In 1985, he played Mako's role (The Reciter) in a regional production of "Pacific Overtures." He has never appeared on Broadway but is certainly willing to entertain offers.
On a trivial note, Greg Baldwin attended the University of Houston with fellow voiceover actor Jeff Bennett. He and Mr. Bennett competed against each other in dramatic competitions while in high school. Mr. Bennett usually won.
Greg's favorite color is blue and his alcoholic beverage of choice is a vodka tonic.
