Hadano, Kanagawa

Hadano (Japanese: 秦野市; -shi) is a city in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.
As of 2003, the ward has an estimated population of 168,505 and the density of 1,626.34 persons per km². The total area is 103.61 km². It was a regional commercial centre during the Tokugawa era when the cultivation of tobacco was introduced. However,the cultivation of tobacco was finished after its 300 hundred year history in 1984.The city has no tabcco farmers and tobacco-trading center with a processing plant of the Japanese Monopoly Bureau was replaced by a large shopping mall.
