[edit] Synopsis
Colleges. Parties. A hot boyfriend. Plans for the future. Olivia (Lacey Chabert) leads a busy life with no one to look after but herself, and nothing to worry about except finals and what to pack for an upcoming Italian adventure. That all changes when she becomes guardian of Celia (Sammi Hanratty), her younger half-sister she barely knows. Assigned to the task by her late father, Olivia reluctantly accepts and, in an instant, her life goes from the fast lane to the mommy track. And it isn't easy as she thought it would be.
With only her wits and her wacky mom Barbara (Wendie Malick) to guide her, Olivia stumbles through motherhood, struggles with getting to know Celia and discovers that they share little in common except strong personality and a stubborn streak. Mixed in with everything are Olivia's unresolved feelings for her dad and the relationship they never had. Plus, there are some in her life who want the old Olivia or nothing at all. Can Olivia handle her new life or will she hand it off to someone else?
