Heup Young Kim

Prof Heup Young Kim is Professor of Systematic Theology at Kangnam University in South Korea[1].
He is a former dean of the College of Humanities and Liberal arts, the Graduate School of Theology and the University Chapel. He earned a BSE. from Seoul National University, and worked in industry, earning an MBA and was hired to work in the mergers planning department of a trading company. Korea's international business was growing and he became a representative for different companies (Daewoo and, later, Samhwa) in New York City. It was a general trading company (import / export) for many products, such as shoes and silk.[2]
He then had a religious conversion from Confucianism to Christianity. He earned a M.Div. and Th.M. from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from the Graduate Theological Union. He has carried out extensive research in the area of Science and Religion been a visiting scholar at the Center for Theology and the Natural Sciences (Graduate Theological Union), a senior fellow at the Center for the Study of World Religions (Harvard University) and is one of the founding members of the International Society for Science and Religion. Prof Kim has received numerous honors and awards including the John Templeton Foundation Research grant (2004-5), Distinguished Research Professor Award, Kangnam University (2003) and Most Distinguished Research Professor Award, Kangnam University (2003).
