Hillsview, South Dakota

Hillsview is a town located in McPherson County, South Dakota. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of three. According to the United States Census Bureau, it is one of only nine places in the United States with a population of three people. The others are East Blythe, California, North Red River Township, Minnesota, Rulien Township, Minnesota, Hush Lake, Minnesota, Pfeiffer Lake, Minnesota, Livermore, New Hampshire, Point of Rocks, Wyoming, and Hobart Bay, Alaska.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.7 km² (0.6 mi²). 98.44% of it is land and 1.56% of it is water. This is equal to an outdoor swimming pool.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were three people, one household, and one family residing in the town. The population density was 1.8/km² (4.7/mi²). There were two housing units at an average density of 1.2/km² (3.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was all White.
There was one household a married couples living together. None are made up of individuals and none have someone living alone who is sixty five years of age or older. The household size was 3.00 and the family size was three.
In the town the population was spread out with 33.3% from forty five to sixty four, and 33.3% who were sixty five years of age or older and 33% unaccounted. The median age was sixty four years. There was one woman and two men.
