In Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor the red link to House of Luxembourg was removed. It led to nowhere. Could someone expand a little bit this History of Luxembourg not to have Charles IV featuring there as the first named person ? Well, after Sigefroid... Radoneme 18:43, 7 Dec 2004 (UTC)
The First House of Luxembourg, to which Charles IV belonged, was extint at some point in history. After several centuries of domination by other countries a new House of Luxembourg was created a lot later. knut

Ii says on the Luxembourg page that independence was achieved on 1867 May 11 but there is no information on this on the History of Luxembourg page. What happened ? The Treaty of London, 1867 was signed ? -- PFHLai 17:03, 2005 May 9 (UTC)

Part of the current article is difficult to understand. It either is a translation issue, or it is due to the author's level of english (I'm also ESL, so not best placed to do the corrections). Anyhow, I've started editing the article in the hope of making it clearer. Unfortunatelly I don't know all the details involved, so in many cases I can only change the sentences, not correct what appear to be historic errors. If the original author is still about could he please help out a bit. For one thing I think the article should not talk about such and such state doing something when it's in fact that state's sovereign's action. Also general terms like the prussian heir can be very confusing (why not give his name and the name of the dynasty (well here I know it would be a Hohenzollern, but others are not as obvious) etc.
Anyhow, I plan to look at the article section by section in the coming days and try to raise it's standard a bit. Whenever I know more about the historic situation I will add or correct the article as well (as in the belgian revolution, mentionning that the dutch governor retreated into the fortress under prussian protection might be too much detail, but mentionning that the fortress and vicinity remained under dutch control was a necessary correction). This is my first day at english language Wikipedia (and one of my first months editing wikipedia at all though I've been using a while longer). So any help would be welcome, I also don't wish to thread on anyones feet or start an edit-war.

- Seems it took me over three months to start this and I don't really have the courage to dig into those sections (mid 14th through late 19th century). I think it requires a complete rewrite. Right now it's entirely focused on inheritance, lacking important wikilinks etc. I really wonder whether anyone currently bothers to read those sections.--Caranorn 22:45, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
