Hooper (mascot)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hooper is the mascot of the NBA's Detroit Pistons. He generally appears as a horse wearing a Pistons jersey. The symbolism is that as pistons, the team produces horsepower, hence the equine mascot. He has gained popularity with Pistons fans, having fun with them in the stands.
He was born in Lucky, Kentucky, coming to Detroit by taking the wrong turn on a highway.
He replaced the Pistons' previous mascot, Sir Slamalot, in 1997.
