Hover boots

Hover boots are fictional boots equipped with jets that allow the wearer to hover in the air, and perhaps fly at speed.
They sometimes appear in comics, cartoons and early science fiction.
It is unlikely that hover boots will become a reality in the foreseeable future, due to the poor balance arising from their being attached to one end of the body. More importantly, to fit into something as small as a boot, they must rely on some form anti-gravitic technology, which as yet does not exist.
