Howard Schwarzman

Howard Schwarzman (also known as Howie) was born in 1927 in New York and is an American magician, card manipulator, sleight of hand and trick inventor.
He was one of the charter members of F.A.M.E. , the "Future American Magical Entertainers", in the 1940’s a magic club created for young magician’s in New York City, under the tutalage of Professor Abe Hurwitz, father of Shari Lewis.
Howard became a magic dealer in 1976 and specialized in rare imported tricks. He also wrote a popular column, "I've Said It Before", for Tannen’s Magic Manuscript Magazine.
He is a member of the Parent Assembly Nr. 1 of the Society of American Magicians for 45 years and has been named 2007 Magician of the Year. He is also a long time attendee at FFFF, "Fechter's Finger Flinging Frolic" a convention for close-up magicians held upstate NY for the past 35 years.
Back in 1961 when Howard first began to lecture to magicians clubs, Dai Vernon said of him, "In the last few years, you have certainly taken your place among the top flight card men in New York ... I think I'm familiar with the work of almost everyone interested in card handling, both professional and amateur, in this country. I unhesitatingly assert you can hold your own in the fastest company." Source
Although retired since 1993, he still attends many major conventions and gives the occasional lecture.
He lives in Baltimore, Maryland and in his spare time plays the piano and flies his own plane.
