Ignorance-based view
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An ignorance-based view is the philosophical idea or belief that one's self or group can have no real knowledge of the nature of existence, in general, or specifically about a particular issue, and that nothing can or should be done, because one's intelligence does not come close to touching upon the issue.
Some cultures and religions have expressed this belief-system, usually about their association with God, Death, Life, or just random items in their existence.
It can be said that this outlook on human intelligence is in fact used as an oppressive tool by religions for belittling and undermining the capabilities of the human mind. In doing so, one may fabricate an irrational transcendentalism but have it legitimized as irrefutable since 'one's intelligence does not come close to touching upon the issue'.
