IZZ
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
IZZ is a New York based progressive rock band. Their music is inspired by several of the classic progressive groups such as Genesis, Yes, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, and King Crimson, and is often infused with memorable pop hooks à la The Beatles. The Progboard[1] web page on echolyn, "Similar bands", indicates a 100% match between IZZ and echolyn.
The band name comes from a somewhat unlikely source: the nickname "Izzy" of baseball relief pitcher Jason Isringhausen, who was once on the New York Mets, a team John Galgano is a fan of.
The group has performed at the American progressive rock festivals NEARfest, CalProg, and ProgDay.
